Risk management is essential in all organisations and plays an integral role in organisations' decision-making and strategic planning. Effective risk management helps enterprises to gain greater insights into the risks and implications associated with critical business decisions, thereby maximising business performance. 

As Enterprise Risk management (ERM) is still in its infancy in Singapore and even globally, there is much confusion what it is all about and entails. Much help is thus needed to move firms to higher ERM maturity level. A related issue within ERM, business continuity and crisis management, is a perennial challenge for businesses, increasingly so as we are now operating in a 24/7 and interconnected economy.  Recent incidences (disrupted supply chain, SGX, telco, SMRT train and major bank service disruptions) underlie the importance of business resilience and preparedness.

Nanyang Business School at Nanyang Technological University offers the Enterprise Risk Management programme which addresses both ERM and business continuity issues. It is aligned to ISO 31000 (ERM) and ISO 22301 (Business Continuity Management).
